NYC tends to get 1 to 3 weeks a year in the 90's. Those are brutal on the bike. But the 16 weeks under 45 are the real disincentive.
I commented that for some people it is a disincentive! I personally ride slow so I don't get too sweaty! I am also pretty sensitive to heat. I get heat rash in temperatures over about 80-82. I am a delicate flower. I also live somewhere (and this is one of the reasons) where days above 80 are rare.
But to circle back to the women's thread. It is more acceptable in our society for men to sweat than women. I mean in case you missed it, there was legit commentary during the Olympics about athletes not wearing makeup. So yeah it could be a blocker.
But fall is pretty good biking weather for just about anyone. There could be some good crossover with promoting back to school bikes!
