I agree regarding station wagons. My wife and I are keeping her 2001 VW Passat running as long as we reasonably can, because it is the perfect car in size and configuration. After 15 years, it still looks great, runs great, is a pleasure to drive, and holds bikes either inside or on my roof rack (Yakima bike carriers on VW cross bars, clamped to the OEM roof-mounted rails).
I am looking forward to our town's annual classic car signature event, Wavecrest. I always enjoy riding one of the Capos to it, although my bikes are too new by the 1910s to early 1950s standards of the car meet.
