I do not have any experience with these bottom bracket bearings, but based on years of experience with sealed bearings in industrial equipment the technique is certainly something I have used. My one observation would be that after disassembly I would use a solvent such as mineral spirits to completely clean out the existing grease and clean the seal, then dry with compressed air. After that repack with fresh grease and replace the seal.
