Ya, I see your point. Part of my asking about this is that with square taper bb's I've had really good life expectancy out of them, and I realize that conditions play a big part (water, constant dirt etc) but I've been told enough times now that externals don't last as long as square taper, so if an easy repacking can greatly extend the life of a hollowtech then I'm willing to try it (and like I said, to learn about options)
