Remove the wheel and take a photo of your current cassette and freehub and someone can answer. Also verify that it is 8 speeds and not 7 speed. Shimano?

There have been a couple of different standards over the years. With 8 speed, you probably have the "modern" version, but the only way to know for sure is to see what you have.
