1990 Trek 750 Multitrack

Meant to post this here, but accidentally posted it in mechanics' forum. Apologies to those who spend time in both forums

Picked up off CL for $75 from a charming (and very tall) old man. He said it was his wife's. It had been sitting in his garage for years. Took it home, cleaned it up, took off some fiddly bits (flickstand, mickey mouse bell, ancient Avocet computer). Put on a new SRAM cassette and KMC chain. Shifted flawlessly right off the bat, which I was not expecting. Removed the original (!) tires and put on some 38mm Hutchison Globetrotters.

Rode it to work this morning without any issues.

My understanding is that these were some of the last models that Trek manufactured in the US. Double-butted Tru Temper cromoly throughout. Allegedly the same geometry as the 520 touring from the same era.

Thinking about doing a drop bar conversion (would be my first such attempt). Right now just going to use it as my daily commuter (25mi r/t) while I gather up parts. The shade of blue in this paint is just gorgeous. Here are some pics.
