I have a Specialized hybrid bike and I was wondering if gear shifters can be moved more towards the center of my bars or if this would cause problems? I'm looking to move them about an inch or so because when I hit big bumps or holes the backs of my thumbs sometimes jab into them (big hands). There is a Allen wrench screw on them holding them in place so I'm guessing I could just loosen that and move them. Is there any reason this couldn't be done?
