I'm very, very lucky to have a wife that is willing to do this and still keep her sanity.....
On our cross-country honeymoon in 1977, my wife kept a handwritten journal in a 3x5 notebook and I have no idea what happened to it. We took pictures with a Kodak Instamatic (it was a choice between a good camera or a good tent) on slide film, and mailed them back to the parents in Michigan to be developed. Just past the Continental Divide we stayed at a lodge where we bought a sealed package of film. The proprietor pointed out that the package was bulging (distended by air) because it had been packed at sea level.
After we settled in Boston in a temporary rooming house the camera was stolen and we lost pictures of the final days’ ride through Virginia, and our entry into DC.
We sent postcards back to friends and family to include thank-you notes from the wedding…another off-the-bike activity...Ayup...
