England, near the close of a 1,400 mile tour one of the bottom supporting bolts on my Bontrager (??) front rack sheared off. This is a weak point as it uses a 5Mx24mm bolt with a spacer, the forces on this long bolt are lateral when the rack is loaded. This bolt broke, the other upon inspection was bent.

Fortunately like five minutes later, the very first guy who stopped to help was a mechanic with a veritable parts store in his Land Rover, he found a bolt in his vehicle that would fit.

Since getting back I switched out both bolts, plus now two of my water bottle holder bolts are 5Mx24mm (rather than the common 8 or 12 mm) so that now I have spares.
