RST because it was cheap, less than 1/2 the price of an equivilent marzocchi in this country, (dont even ask what a fox is worth over here). Light, less than many single crowns, especially marzocchi's, and nearly half what the single crown it replaced weighed. It was made from magnesium (legs) and hard chromed 7050 aluminum staunchions. Never bottomed out on me and gave a sweet ride. Bang for the bucks!
Dual crown because I am largish and it gave me a little extra confidence to know that if a crown did start to tear or deform then I'd get more warning than with a single crown. Also because it was the replacement for a real dud model and these were overbuilt to compensate.
