So ... you position is that it is impossible to break a metal frame within a year? I have been in a bunch of wrecks and I can assure you that there is no magic frame material. Any bike can be terminally damaged. So your first argument=trash.

Here you are just imagining things. ANY bike can weigh less than this guy's CF bike. Ti in fact is probably harder to get light with equivalent stiffness ... and certainly not for the price.

This is one point you ignore: people actually have to buy their bikes. I can buy a 12-lb steel bike if I have a fat enough wallet. For people who do want to buy a light bike---for Whatever reason, and no one here can tell anyone else what a "good " reason might be--- CF is the best frame material----light, stiff, affordable---compared to steel, Al, or Ti for the same weight and stiffness.

This guy didn't end up with his Bianchi by accident. Whether or not he races or plans to race, he bought his bike to ride---and he Didn't Want a heavier bike. And barring freak accidents, his replacement frame might well last as long as any other.

There was a thread recently about a guy comparing a 1980's CF bike with a new one Is it a holy frame? Is it magic?

No, the fact is, a CF frame can last a lifetime just like a steel, Al, or Ti frame. I certainly plan to ride my CF bike for the rest of my life. But if I seriously crash, get hit by a car, fall off a cliff, get hit by a crashing airplane ... then Any of my bikes, steel CF, or Al, could be totaled.

Here's an idea: let's not totally abandon reason and logic in our attempts to promulgate our prejudices?
