Followup Dr visit today was very good. She gets to skip the cast. They splinted ankle and sent her home to wait on insurance to approve boot. She's off work one more week because Dr didn't want her going back until she had boot. PT will start within next two weeks. She has 8-10 more weeks of no weight on ankle.
I absolutely hated the boot. I think it prevented me from learning to walk on the ankle again. I bought myself my first set of
high-end high-top hiking boots, and in retrospect wish I had used those instead of the boot torture device.
