Got the video for giggles too. Didn't look as bad as it felt, at least from the helmet cam perspective. Any day you can catch yourself before hitting the ground is a good day.

Fort Worth Cycling & Fitness on Cherry Lane straightened the rim enough to limp around on while I decide whether to replace the wheel. If it turns out to be a single wall rim I'll probably replace it. They replaced the rear wheel on my red bike back in April when something similar happened on the trails after hitting some washboard ruts on the gravel path. I'd feel more secure and confident knowing I had a solid wheel back there.

Not sure I'd have caught myself with my feet if I'd been strapped or clipped in. This stuff happens much quicker than we realize sometimes. All that stuff about unclipping, tuck and roll, duck and cover, etc... by the time the brain and body have agreed on how to react, we're already on the ground and getting ready to pick gravel out of our skin.
