Here's a CA 1983 Nuovo Mexico for detail/decal comparison. Yes, mine has a bit more chrome and only two top tube guides, but it's basically the same frame/fork combo.



Nuovo Super or Mexico from the early 80s is still my guess. In any case, I'm sure it's authentic.
