Does anybody make good leather/cotton fingerless gloves anymore?

I've gone through a couple different pairs of "modern" gloves and honestly, none of them stand up to (the the memory of) my old leather and crocheted gloves. Tape wrapped cloth bars + my crappy wrists/hands mean I need decent padding. I'm also not a fan of Star Trek fashion that seems to be designed to enhance sweatiness. Plus, to me, current styling looks kind of stupid while riding the Miyata 1000.

I've tried a couple pairs of leather/cotton gloves available on Amazon (in addition to "modern" ones), but they're utter trash. Honestly, I don't remember the brand I had (Spenco maybe?), but my old gloves were made from tough, supple leather, had great padding, were comfortable, cool and lasted over a decade.

Am I searching for a Coelacanth?

EDIT: Veeka?

Thanks
