Those Zipp 202 wheels are wider rims and you feel it on the road, they ride nicer than the Syncros carbon rims that came on my last Scott, which were great wheels as well. The Zipp 202s are 1450 grams vs. only 1400 grams for the Syncros wheels, but the are 32mm deep vs. 28mm deep so you get more areo I guess. The ride is the shiznit. Nice float, particularly over choppy tarmac. Worth the slight weight penalty. The new bike is about 100 grams heavier than the old one, I think the 11-28 cassette is heavier than the 11-25 I weighed the 2014 bicycle with. Wheels are 50 grams heavier, the new frame is 50 grams lighter, so that could be a wash. Hey when you're talking an ounce or two, anything can make a difference, for all I know the Zipp bar tape adds 30 grams.
Very happy with the new ride. It is an upgrade from the old one, albeit a Pcad Stupid UpgradeŽ.
My leg with the knee replacement and the multiple vascular surgeries is doing great, no more issues with that, last vascular surgery was like 21 months ago, the last venous stasis wound cleared up about 16 months ago and those never recurred, no more pain/stiffness, the knee replacement is 2 years old now and that's not a limitation on my activities at all. Every now and then that TKR knee feels a little stiff, but not often and it never hurts.
