Actually it can be very cheap to try out multiple stems. Old version FSA OS-99s (alloy, not carbon wrapped) can be had for about $20-25 on ebay and resold for the same price. They used to cost $60 and before that, even a lot more. And if you keep one, you will love it. Light and stiff. Only about 110 g for a 100 mm stem.
