I have a mid 80s Gios Compact (40th anniversary model from 86-87) that is in great condition...having said this, it's a real Frankenstein, as all of the components are a mish mash of stuff. I have several bikes, but I really like the GIOS blue, and I'd like this bike to be more of a showpiece. With this in mind, I think I'd like to convert to Campagnolo components, that are period correct, but I'm not sure what groupset I should consider. I've done some research, but I'm a little overwhelmed by all of the info. Doesn't have to be top of the line, but I'd like it to be period correct, no black or carbon parts. I want to leave the rear spacing at 126mm so 5-7 speed is fine.
Please chime in on what groupset you think might be best (I know this is a loaded question, but I'm looking for different opinions...) Thanks all!
