...I just renovated a similar aged Gios Compact. I guess I did not want a showpiece, so I used stuff that works well, but is sorta age appropriate. I guess I'm not much help, but here's a picture anyway. You need pictures for a thread in C+V.

If you don't look too closely, it's sort of age appropriate Dura Ace, but I think maybe the hubs are whatever I had that was OK, and the brakes are definitely newer dual pivot side pulls. I think maybe people make too much out of the whole matchy-matchy business. If you were racing back then, it was not much of a concern. Youi put stuff on your bike that worked and that you could afford to buy.
