all good suggestions! Thought about the hobby and auto touch up. No real hobby shop in our area anymore... and the only close auto parts with any paint options is an O-Reillys. I might be able to mix paints to get a close color... done that before with other stuff...
I'm surprised I didn;t think of the nail polish idea - I use clear nail polish for everything! Just never though about a silver metallic kinda nail polish... that might be my first visit.

BTW - from the old days when I did a lot of backpacking - waterproofed stick matches by dipping in nail polish...
