No salmoning ever while riding, even in the sticks. I'm a moving vehicle and act as such. I am extra careful going east-west with a low sun. Running, different story. I always salmon because it's what drivers expect and gives me a heads up. Only time I don't salmon is going up a blind hill, don't want any nasty surprises halfway up with a car coming full speed down. At the top I'm right back on the other side of the road.

All the laws of physics notwithstanding, car+bike= disaster every time for the bike. Same for runner. Don't need any formulas for that.
