I think you have a fundamental problem with your post - you answered your own question.
Also, it is a very grey line between a truly custom built bike and a limited production bike and a full production bike.
Finally, on the situation we in with modern bike production (perhaps such as Raleigh); is the brand really dead if the bikes are made elsewhere (far east)? I ask, because Raleigh was sourcing frames and components from the far east looong before the British assembly plant stopped production. Is it really the frame that makes the brand's national origin?
