national and provincial roads in good condition with very light traffic.
island perimeter ride is mostly flat, with hotels nicely spaced.
lots of little roads to empty beaches.
central mountain district for variety.
coconuts, mangoes, betelnut, papaya, pineapple, rice year round.
off the main roads is a maze of dirt or narrow concrete single lanes
passing through countless tiny villages.
with no traffic 'cept for scooters and tractors.
(semi) intl airports at either end of the island.
high speed rail (no bikes) runs in a full loop.
bus service (bikes ok) to everywhere, cheap and often.
welders experienced in thin steel tubing qualified
to fix your inferior steel steed available everywhere.

so, uh....it's okay, i guess.
