Lots of ghost bikes around here, probably owing to the fact that our surface streets are built like highways -- two or three lanes in each direction, plus turn lanes both left and right.
As to the "white bike/ghost bike" association, I don't really see it unless the bike is - as some have mentioned - absolutely completely 100% white. And riding something like that is akin to aiming a middle finger at fate and/or the bicycle gods... not superstitious or anything, but no thanks.
