Hydraulic brake on new Roam 1

I went to put money down on my new giant roam 1 and wife's alight 3. He had the Roam 1 built, so I took it for a test ride. It shifted like butter, compared to what I'm used to. But the rear brake was very soft compared the the front. He noticed that it leaked a little oil, the one cable wasn't tight or something, so he's gonna fill it back and double check on it in a day or so. (won't be picking up the bikes for 3 days)

I asked if this is normal, he said rarely, but sometimes he'll have to add or even take a little oil out, from new bikes, but it's rare. So just my luck, I'm one of them. (I'm the guy that feels like it always happens to me, lol) I asked what if this becomes an issue. He said it won't, but if it did, I'm obviously under a warranty. I know this, but I'm spending $820 on a new bike.

So, my question is, do any of you know of this happens to new bikes, or should they be coming from manufacturer, working perfect. Common sense is telling me, that this happens. But I want to make sure.
