Torpado goes back to 1895 and was manufactured by Torresini of Padova, Italy. During the early 1970s bicycle boom, they were very popular in Canada and I can attest that this model still came came with chromed lugs at the peak of the boom. The LBS where I worked, competed against Torpado with Chiorda, who had an almost identical model, right down to the chrome lugs, as late as 1974.
