First Century, well 85.4% of one...

I did my first Century ride today for our local charity Pedal the Cause Pedal the Cause | Team Profile

Here is the Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/725047078

The entire route was 98.6 miles. My original plan was do to everything except for Babler Park, which is a local set of particularly killer hills. Here is the route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14452623

In the end, I skipped Babler, plus a 8 mile loop towards the end as I was just wiped and ended up with 85.4. In retrospect, I should have skipped the part at mile 42.5-54 on the route, which would have left energy to do Babler (or at least try it, it is very brutal) That 12 mile loop that I did do was absolutely brutal.

Adding to the fun today was 92 degree heat and high humidity.

Anyway, I am pretty proud of myself for completing the 85.4. I am still ~350# and was by far the biggest rider on this length of ride and I did a lot of the very hard hills without stopping or walking. Plus our team raises a lot of money for a very good cause (My mom has an uncurable type of cancer, Multiple Myeloma, and gets treatment as one of the beneficiaries on Pedal the Cause.)
