Thank you all for your input. You have been very helpful. I'm going to keep this bike as is and ride it for exercise until I figure out what new bike I will buy. I'm leaning toward a steel frame and looking at a Rodriguez Ranier which appears to be a good base bike. I have spoken to several bike shops and a frame maker that lives near me who has been in the industry for 45 years. While jumping to one of his at this point would be over kill for my level, he did think Rodriguez was a good option for my current needs when I'm ready.
