It didnt rain!!!! It was wet however and slippery in spots!

My " update" on how it went:
I intended to do 40... its all about terrain! ( and other factors). 1) My rear rack is HEAVY. It was like riding with a back flat. NOT FUN. I had to drop it at the 1st rest stop. 2) Hills. Hill Hell. 3) Not being on a bike in 1.5wks didnt help. 4) my taillight tumbled down a hill apparently but it was rescued!
8mi in and i knew i couldnt do the 40. 10mi in and i knew I couldnt. 18mi in and i longed for the finish line.

As for the rain gear. I layered wearing: bike shorts w/pants over, under armour shirt w/short sleeve jersey over and jacket over that. Wool socks. I took off the jacket at the rest stop. I was fine.

Would i do it again? Yes but luckily not until a year from now when im faster and stronger!!
