As for a deal, it is a good price. For commuting in the winter, they are not much fun. It is a slow and tedious ride depending on your mileage. Mine was 7.5 miles each way and I started to dread it. They are a blast in like 4" of freshly fallen powder on the street but how often does that happen? In 10" or more, forget it, you are more than likely not riding it in that.

Keep in mind that good tires for these things are on the expensive side. You can play with the air pressure to soften up the ride, however, it will feel even slower.
