My car is a Jetta hybrid and with the front wheel off and the back seat folded down, I can fit it into the trunk. Fork end goes in first, frame is supported' on the battery pack, rear goes in last. Finally, I place the front tire in the trunk. The bike is in there diagonally and then I can close the trunk door.

My bike is heavy and difficult to get into car by myself, so now I have I have a hitch carrier which I can open the trunk without needing to lower the mast. I take my carrier off when not using it, storing it in my trunk, but when it's in the hitch, it is nice to be able to open the trunk without needing to fiddle with the mast.
