Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

Very cool; it's a great feeling when you ride a good century. I think the key to doing long distance is to dampen down the higher parts of your brain (the rational/higher order cognition part) and listen better to the "animal" parts of your brain that deal with basic functions such as breathing, eating, heart rate, etc. That is almost a zen like way of riding and requires that you focus on being in the moment.
