As noted by others, knowing the nature of your rims' ultimate death is key to identifying the cause.

There are a few types of failures all having different causes.

1- stress cracking at the nipple holes
2- brake track wear to where the flange begins to fail
3- dents and blips along the outer edges
4- total failure of the wheel, misalignment, collapse, etc.

If your rims are usually failing the same way it points to some consistent issue. If failing different ways, might be pure bad luck.
