Slacken everything. Squeeze the lever to fully expose the cable head area. Push on the wire while using something like an ice pick to gently pry the head out to the side. Once it clears the lever, it'll slide out freely.

Instead of the ice pick, you can use something like a chop stick to push the head sideways from the backside.
