Surly has a cromoly for less than $60. She's got the spandex and we're getting her a pair of shoes/cleats, too. Then the 700 x 35's get replaced with 32's. The suspension fork she's got now isn't adjustable, can't be locked out, and weighs a ton.

It would probably make more sense to just buy her a new bike, say the Trek 7.3FX WSD and be done with it but she'd kill me for buying yet another bike(garage is getting full). I've got her interested in cycling and we're going on longer and longer rides so I figure I can upgrade her bike a bit at the time, then get her a new bike next year. Hand the old one down to her daughter.
