And the bridge isn't even Reynolds 531, just plain 1/2" seamed steel tubing.
I am kind of surprised that there isn't already a hole in it.
There should be a vent hole in the bridge. We put them in the rear face of the bridge; it could serve as a pilot hole for the OP to drill it to a wider diameter, should he choose to do so.
