Cranky, Many years ago when I read about this fine point of wheel building, I checked all of my bikes and only one was "correct". While on the front it really didn't matter, as far as I could determine, it could on the rear if one should derail the chain into the spokes. If a spoke protector is used or if the L travel limiting screw is correctly adjusted on the RD I don't think there would be any real problem.

Other than noting that there were some incorrectly laced wheels, I did nothing to "fix" them.
