It doesn't get much better for cycling infrastructure than Portland and since being here I have probably been on protected bikeway or greenway for .0001% of my riding. If I really needed to have protected infrastructure to accomplish my commute, shopping or other riding, I would be up a creek without a paddle. Cyclists who cannot abide traffic, limit themselves to only going where the MUP's or Greenways take them. May as well be a fair weather, recreation only cyclist at that point. And that's fine, but that doesn't speak to the thrust of this sub-forum in general or this thread in particular.
