Bikes: My 1978 Raleigh from new, 1995 Trek, & constant changing & rebuilding of other bike projects.

To follow up on the comments following my comment, on 26" wheels which are very common & easy to find replacement, I replace damaged wheels, on the much older 27" rims which for me here are very hard to find, when I've rebuilt bikes, if needed I cut out all the old spokes, clean up polish the hub, do the same to the 27" rim then take the hub, rim, & I've been told how to cut out the spokes so I take a couple in for "THE MAN" to measure, supply & install the correct ones.
