I'm not 19 anymore either by a longshot, but like to stay semi fit relatively. I don't mind some climbing to a good view. Seems like most good rides in socal involve driving to the start.

Anyhow, I'm still on the fence about doing L'Eroica. If I go It'll probably be my PX10 that has 38 x 28. I suppose I could be hardcore and ride my Masi with sewups and a 13 x21. Maybe wuss out and put on a 13x23. I actually have taken that on Jobst rides BITD which were probably a lot more brutal than L'eroica, but I was younger...
You are from up north? I rode Jr in 83 and raced for the next 16 years (get my years mixed up as I reached senior status). I sucked, so I made up the numbers in the field. Won four races only and was DQ on the fifth one.

LOL, 42x21. I rode that for years, going all over the places. I remember those years. Good times. I hope to see you at L'Eroica or the Park sometimes. Are you still doing fast pace group rides?
