A recumbent might be tiresome commuting in San Francisco (thankfully Lombard street is one-way downhill) or somewhere equally hilly, but here in the flatlands, after 40,000+ miles back and forth to work, I doubt I'd still be doing it each and every day if I was riding an upright bike.
