noglider Of course there are weight training forums... there's a weightlifting thread I see here from time to time. I used to do weight lifting as part of my gym routine. I was forbidden since my heart diagnosis, it builds heart muscle in the wrong area or something. I miss it. 40's to 60's is a big jump! And dumbbells are harder than a barbell. You can nerd out on it just as much as with bikes, if you wanted. I found it really beneficial to find something fun to do with my arm workouts (like rock climbing). I'd do legs on Monday so they'd be recovered in time for anything that required big leg strength (snowboarding, specifically) on the weekend. Crossfit is popular now. Yoga and pilates seem like girl things but they are strength training too. Probably 80% of the benefit you can get just by making a plan and following it, working to failure and waiting for recovery. But past that you are in to creatine and protein shakes and maybe spending more time on it than you wanted.
