I think a lot of regular MTB cranks use a 48 mm chainline for the middle ring, but you can get to 52mm+ if you put the chain ring on the outside mounting point on the crank. The White Industries ENO crank has a 47.5mm chainline on a 113mm BB, so maybe that's a magic number or something.
