Agreed and if I was in a hurry to get this one on the road I'd have those pads up against my bench grinder. As it is though I doubt this one will be done before the snow starts to fall so I have time to look around a bit for some brakes or offset pad holders.

I think to a great extent that should be part of the reason behind any build thread. Share the pain a bit, maybe find some answers together, and learn from it. On a motorcycle forum I'm on, pertaining to a relatively rare make of Italian bike (Laverdas, my other two wheeled passion) we have an ongoing thread dedicated to the ways we've all found to screw the pooch so to speak. Its all a way to blow off some frustration, and hopefully help others to not make the same mistakes.
