Out where I ride(rural back roads mostly) I even get a wave from half the passing vehicles, and try to respond in kind. The country habit of waving at those you pass is a hard habit to kick.
Iv recently noticed when im down driving through the country on the weekends that quite a few cyclists actually wave to me... I missed waving to the first one because i wasn't expecting it and had to process it lol. I moved out of that area about 6 years ago and now up in the city, people don't even look at one another most of the time, no matter how/where they're getting around.
