Bikes: '16 Trek Domane SLR 7 Disc

I had a GURU fit done recently after taking 16 months off the bike for three surgeries, including an orthopedic shoulder repair as well as some lower-back issues. I got my new bike 10 days ago and so far I'm not totally convinced that the GURU was any better because of its system. Is the fit-bike moving electronically cool? Absolutely, no doubt about it. But I'm still having some issues with fit/comfort. The fitter I had was supposedly experienced but I'm not sure he was necessarily the best option. I'm probably going to get a RETUL fit done in a few months as my body recovers/adapts to riding again.

I will say this: the GURU experience is cool. It's neat watching your power numbers change in response to minor adjustments of the fit parameters. If you can get it included for free as part of a bike purchase (which is what I did when buying my Domane) it's a great option. If not, and you're looking to optimize your current fit, I'd talk to other local cyclists about who is a super-experienced fitter.

Agree with pakossa-- shop the fitter, not the system.
