Bikes: 1962 Rudge Sports, 1971 Raleigh Super Course, 1971 Raleigh Pro Track, 1974 Raleigh International, 1975 Viscount Fixie, 1982 McLean, 1996 Lemond (Ti), 2002 Burley Zydeco tandem

A little less than halfway to work, my rear derailleur exploded, disabling my bike. I hobbled back home gently. For the first time in 40 years or so, I left the bike at the bike shop for repairs. I'm not enjoying all this wrenching, and I might as let them do it this time. I asked for a new derailleur and possibly a new headset.

I went to the subway so I could get to work super late. The subways stopped running. Someone was hit and killed by a train. Horrible. They halted service, and who knows how long that will last.

Well, it looks like I'm not supposed to get to work today. I'm back home again.
