Thanks everyone. The rims are 50mm. It's a Trek Stache. I really like the width of the 3" tires and think they'll serve me well throughout the winter (packed and plowed trails). I got some local advice today mentioning the Surly Dirt Wizards would probably accept the Grip Studs, and that tire comes in the 29x3 size. Anyone play around with studding those?
