The body looks a lot plumper than most of the turkey buzzards I've seen. So either it's eating really well, or you're probably correct with a breed of chicken.
The Turkey Vultures I've seen have white feet, but that's from them pooping on them, helps keep them cool.
Was the bird's head totally naked and red? That would point me towards a vulture, too. But I ain't no ornithologist.
