Try bending those rear struts to support more of the top of the rear, and you should be able to get a better line. One up toward the top, and the other a little higher on the back/bottom. A piece of black duct tape between the two fronts, wrapped all the way around the joint, (Just lap it all the way around to give two on the top, and one on the bottom of the fender.) will stop any spray from getting thru the void, keep it cleaner, and help support the front portion. MHO

Food for thought. A BIG bastard file would shave that straight down piece to a curved (concave) shape, to accommodate that fender, without compromising strength.
